WPA Co-sponsored International Conference for Forensic Psychiatry “Forensic Psychiatry and Prison Psychiatry between Medicine and Law ”

We would like to inform you that the WPA Co-sponsored International Conference for Forensic Psychiatry will be held from October 15 to 18, 2026, in Ohrid, North Macedonia, at the Hotel Inex Olgica Conference Center.

The theme of the conference, “Forensic Psychiatry and Prison Psychiatry between Medicine and Law,” focuses on the complex relationship between mental health and the legal system, with a special emphasis on forensic and prison psychiatry.

The conference is organized by the Macedonian Psychiatric Association and the WPA Section for Forensic Psychiatry, and will bring together experts from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, law, and criminology with the aim of fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange.

The program includes lectures, panel discussions, and case-based sessions, focusing on psychiatric expertise in legal contexts, ethical dilemmas, assessment of criminal responsibility, risk assessment, as well as the treatment of individuals with mental disorders in forensic settings.
